Joining Melo
We’re a Harvard-founded startup on a mission to increase access to mental health care. We make it easy for occupational therapists to accept insurance flexibility in their private practice, and in turn, easy for clients to find great care they can afford.
We are currently in the contracting process with Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare in State of Colorado, but plan to expand our insurance partnerships to other states in the coming months. Insurances we work with vary by state, so please reach out through filling out the sign up form to learn more!
Nothing! It’s completely free to join and use Melo.
There’s no minimum hour requirement for providers in our community. Whether you wish to see just one client or more, Melo is here to support you in making mental health care accessible to all.
Yes, you’ll be asked to sign our standard Provider Agreement upon joining. You can terminate this agreement at any time, should you choose to do so.
Seeing clients
This feature is currently in development. We’ll keep you informed as we make progress. Once available, you’ll be able to add your existing clients to the Melo provider portal. We’ll verify their insurance coverage, handle payments, and ensure that billing is smooth and straightforward. Clients can pay using debit or credit cards, HSA, or FSA accounts.
Melo enables you to get credentialed with insurance providers in all the states where you hold a license. Simply indicate your primary practice state in the form above and notify your practice consultant if you wish to add additional states.

Payments are made biweekly via direct deposit.
Yes, as a 1099 independent contractor, you will receive a 1099 tax form from Melo at the end of the year.
